Last Saturday, a few of us met up with McAllister Trail Steward Laura Matthews and helped finish building the last section of a new ~1 mile addition of twisties. Forgot how hard that maddox is to yield, was fine whilst removing stumps and shrub roots, but Sunday morning was a different story. South Texas Off Road Mountain Bikers (STORM has a MOU with the city Parks and Rec department to build and maintain natural surface trails at several parks in our fair city. I hope to participate more often, in fact I need to get with the trail steward responsible for the park near my house so I can get permission to go out and trim face slappers and maybe get some weed eating done (but need a gas powered weed eater first...)
Although I did ride on Monday and Thursday this week, 100oz bladder filled mostly with ice is the ticket. Fortunately the humidity has been okay this week. Tomorrow I'm doing the Sage Cycles Shop Ride. We are fortunate to have Government Canyon State Natural Area to ride in, very close and some awesome south Texas trails.

I hit the gym today, has been a while, and forgot how good it felt, the endorphin rush was pleasant! I'm lucky to have access to a small gym here in our office building, with showers. Now I gotta figure out a route to commute by bike that isn't too dangerous....
